Minnie A. Arnold
Minnie Anna Arnold, 90, of Flora, died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette.
Born Dec. 11, 1917, in Fredricksburg, she was the daughter of James Madison and Maude Ellen King Whitman. Her marriage was on Feb. 24, 1939, in Salem, to William D. "Bud" Arnold, who preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1992.
Mrs. Arnold was employed at Rider Furniture and Sayco, both in Flora, and then at Peters Revington in Delphi from where she retired in 1983.
She was a 25-year member of the Camden First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Dorcas Missionary Society, Jackson Township Extension Homemakers Club, and a euchre card club.
She enjoyed squirrel hunting, crocheting, working word puzzles, flowers, and attending her great-grandsons' sporting events.
Mrs. Arnold had resided at her home in rural Camden before moving to Flora five months ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheila Myer (husband: Don) of Bringhurst and Linda Penn of Camden; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
Two daughters, a grandson, a sister and a brother preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, at the Camden First Baptist Church. Pastor Paul Marcellino will officiate. Burial will follow at Musselman Cemetery near Camden.
Memorials may be made to the Camden First Baptist Church or to Musselman Cemetery.
