William Albert Hendress, 83, of Wolcott, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, in Jasper County Hospital.

Born Jan. 11, 1925, in Sheldon, Ill., he was the son of the late George and Pearl White Hendress. His marriage was on June 2, 1946, in Reynolds to Lois M. Ruemier, who preceded him in death on May 27, 1991.

Mr. Hendress and his wife started Hoosier Knoll Farms in 1946 where they farmed and raised Registered Brown Swiss cattle.

He was a member of the Wolcott Christian Church.

Surviving are four sons, Jerry Hendress (wife: Mara) of Camden, James Hendress (wife: Marcy) of Edwardsburg, Mich., Steve Hendress (wife: Lydia) and Jeff Hendress (wife: Deanna) both of Wolcott; a brother, Wendell Hendress (wife: Maxine) of Reynolds; seven grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 29 at the Wolcott Christian Church. Burial followed at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Lafayette.
