Burl A. Wiles
Services for Burl A. Wiles, 78, of Flora, were held Saturday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Burial, with full military honors, followed at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
He passed away at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Radnor, to Thurman and Zelda Clawson Wiles. He attended Flora High School. He married Dorothy Moore on Sept. 18, 1954, in Delphi, and she survives.
Mr. Wiles had been an inspector at Chrysler Corp. for 33 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Flora, the American Legion, Clarence Wiles Post of Flora, and UAW Local 685.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Rick Wiles (wife: Terrie) of Indianapolis, Ronnie Wiles (wife: Suzie) of Flora, and Robert Wiles (wife: Shelly) of Burlington; one sister, Laverne Von- Ahrens (husband: Dick) of Flora; and one brother, John Wiles (wife: Donna) of Warsaw; seven grandchildren, David Wiles of Lafayette, Brandy Thompson of Flora, Dustin Wiles, and Chasity Cowell of Flora, Blake and Haleigh Wiles of Indianapolis, and Brady Wiles of Burlington; and eight greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Wiles, and four brothers.
