      Robert "Bob" Gene Nape, 64, of Delphi, died at 7:51 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital. Born May 24, 1944, in Ockley, he was the son of Lee and Mildred Tyrie Nape. He married Judy Shafer and they divorced. He later married Sharon Finney, and they divorced.

Helen M. Leftwich
      Helen M. Maples Leftwich, 86, of Delphi, died at 4:55 p.m., Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. She had been in failing health and a patient there since Sept. 21. Born July 28, 1922, in Cleveland, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Edna Johnson Maples. Her marriage was in the summer of 1959 in Bristol, Tenn.

      Services for Burl A. Wiles, 78, of Flora, were held Saturday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Burial, with full military honors, followed at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. He passed away at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at his residence.

      Ernest Newell Scott, 86, formerly of Delphi, died at 1:35 a.m. Wed., Sept. 3, 2008, at his residence in Brandon, Oregon. He had resided there for the past four years after moving there from Santa Cruz, Calif., where he made his home for 32 years.

      Trevor Dylan Ingram, 10, of Monticello, died at 2:47 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, in Cass County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born Jan. 23, 1998, in Logansport, he was the son of Richard and Janelle Foster Ingram, who survive.

      Susan Lucas, 56, of Delphi, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis. Born Aug. 6, 1952, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Harley E. and Charlotte Stead Spurgeon. Surviving are two sons, Michael A. Lucas and Jacob R. Lucas, both of Delphi; a brother, Bob Spurgeon and a sister, Pam Scott (husband: Dan), both of Lafayette.

      Kevin Jay Peterson, 56, of Fishers, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008. He was born Nov. 21, 1951, in Indianapolis, to Morris and Roma (Whippo) Peterson. Kevin was a gifted mechanic and could repair or make anything with engines or moving parts.

Ruemier, who preceded him in death on May 27, 1991.

Born Nov. 7, 193,2 in Delphi, Indiana, he was the son of James and Alena Venita Gallimore Widner. His marriage was to Patricia Ann Haas on May 29, 1950, who preceded him in death in 2003.

      Freeda Mae Scott Hunt, 82, of Brookston, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at her residence. She had been seriously ill the past three months. Born Sept. 30, 1925, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Foster and Sarah Bell Atnip Scott. Her marriage was on Nov. 11, 1944, to Kenneth Dale Hunt in Delphi, who preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1989.

      Services for Rex. E. Mays, 71, of Peru, were held Sept. 23 at Parkview United Methodist Church, Peru. Burial followed in Mt. Hope Cemetery. He died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at his residence. Born July 11, 1937, in Miami County, he was the son of Lawrence and Pearl Coleman Mays. On. Oct. 18, 1959, in Miami County, he married Juanita G. Summers, who survives.
