Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge No. 211 Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge No. 211 Looking back on the early years of Carroll County, the members of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge No. 211 are proud of the role this Lodge has played in the community over those years. Noting a significant milestone, the lodge celebrated its 150-year history last year and is now looking forward to another major event.

On Saturday noon the Lodge will host a luncheon at the Camden Community Center, 100 Main Street. The public is invited to participate in this grand kick-off of the Rededication of the Lodge.

Following the luncheon a public ceremony will take place at the Masonic Temple, 211 West Main Street, at 1:30 p.m. Recognizing the significance of the Lodge's and the Temple's part of the community, a large delegation from the Indiana Grand Lodge is expected and they will conduct the celebration.

"We are honored that the Grand Master of the Indiana Grand Lodge, Mr. Jeffery Zaring, will preside over this noteworthy event," remarked Fred Hartman, Worshipful Master of Mt. Zion Lodge.

"We are most honored that so many of the Grand Lodge and their ladies will be with us on this Rededication Day," Hartman continued.

"Our lodge, now being home to members of the former Masonic Lodges in Cutler, Deer Creek, Flora and Delphi, as well as the Camden area, is strong and growing, defying a trend seen among many service organizations in this day and age," observed Lodge Secretary Nick Clark. Mt. Zion Lodge currently has 255 members.

Other officers of Mt. Zion Lodge are: Donald Hickman Jr., senior warden; Donald Hickman III, junior warden; Robert McCain, treasurer; Wayne Downham, assistant secretary; Jason Endress, chaplain; Chad McAlexander, senior deacon; Gus Fuller, junior deacon; Larry Mote, senior steward; Jason Dunning, junior steward; Ronald King, Tyler; and Wayne Downham, Rod Squire and Christopher Dyke, trustees.

The solemn nature of the event calls for guests to be attired festively. Reservations are not needed. Hartman noted that preparations have been made to accommodate all members and friends of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge.
