Masonic Lodge to be rededicated in Camden
      Looking back on the early years of Carroll County, the members of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge No. 211 are proud of the role this Lodge has played in the community over those years. Noting a significant milestone, the lodge celebrated its 150-year history last year and is now looking forward to another major event.

Registration is open for '09 Leadership Carroll County
      Leadership Carroll County (LCC), an in-depth adult leadership development program, is accepting registrations for its 2009 class that will begin Jan. 21. "Leadership Carroll County is open to county residents or any person with civic or business activities in Carroll County," said Ann Brown, LCC chairman.

Delphi man caught growing marijuana
      Floyd L. Davis, 48, of Delphi, was arrested Sept. 22 at approximately 7 p.m. for growing marijuana plants at his residence in Carroll County. The investigation conducted by the Indiana State Police Marijuana Eradication Team discovered Davis was in possession of 18 live marijuana plants in an outdoor grow operation.

      Marion Riggle and his dog Annie were not just a man and the dog that he loved. They were partners who fought crime for Carroll County together. And when Doberman Pinscher Annie died recently it was a sad day for her beloved handler Riggle.

Local alpaca farm invites visitors
      Heritage Farm Suri Alpacas will participate in the second annual National Alpaca Farm Day on Sept. 27. The local farm, 4175N 1200W, Flora, invites the public to come on that day and learn more about alpacas. In celebration of Gov. Daniels proclaiming Sept. 27 as Alpaca Farm Day in Indiana, Heritage Farm welcomes guests from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Painted Pony premieres in Burlington
      A new sign appeared this summer on the historic building at 413 Michigan Rd., Burlington. The building is now known as Painted Pony Antiques, owned by Larry Hayes and Missy Harris. "I was more interested in the building than opening an antique shop," Larry said.
