Wayne Lambert Wayne Lambert, 69, of rural Camden, lost his battle to cancer and went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior at 10:12 p.m, Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at his residence with his wife and family by his side. He was born March 28, 1939, in Ewing, Va., to John and Janie Barnes Lambert. He married Alice Shaw Stewart on July 11, 1964, in Kokomo, and she survives. Mr. Lambert worked for Fred and Gordon McCain as a farm laborer for 35 years, retiring in 2001 due to ill health. He enjoyed taking his dog, Hercules, for rides in his truck, visiting at Betty's Stop & Shop in Deer Creek and Bishop's Barber Shop in Flora. When he was able he enjoyed playing men's softball and mowing his yard. He was an avid fan of the Pacers and the Colts. Mr. Lambert also enjoyed his hummingbirds every summer and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Jubilee Fellowship in Flora. Surviving are three sons, Darrell Stewart of Burlington, Duane Stewart of Camden, and Dave Lambert (wife: Stephanie) of Flora; two daughters, Deb Foreman (husband: Chuck) and Deanne Lambert, both of Camden; a family friend, Lisa Stewart of Burlington; five sisters, Mary Kelly (husband: Lester) of Burlington, Glenda "Bootie" Styck of Leesburg, Ga., Nancy Reed (husband: Bill) of Dawson Ga., Jean Reed of Haleyville, Ala., and Kathy Stains of Americus, Ga.; three brothers, Bill Lambert (wife: Sandy) of New Tazwell, Tenn., Willard "Bud" Lambert (wife: Joyce) of Flora, and Mike Lambert (wife: Deb) of Albany, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, one grandchild, and his parents. Services were held Monday at the Jubilee Fellowship with Pastor Scott Gamel officiating. Burial followed at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Donations may be made to Jubilee Fellowship. Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, was in charge of arrangements. |
