Club awards
Nine 4-H clubs received a Helping Hands Helping Hometowns certificate for their Citizenship/Community Service Projects. They were:
CARROLTON CLOVERS: Placed Veteran's Flags at two local cemeteries prior to Memorial Day. Collected miscellaneous items to be donated to Carroll County Homemakers Club.
CLAY BOOSTERS: Went to Milner's Community Healthcare; washed their outdoor furniture and set it up in the courtyard; cleaned out their flower beds and planted flowers; interacted with residents.
DEER CREEK DELPHINIUMS: Focused their service projects around Carroll Manor. The flood of 2004 drowned out some of the fir trees the club had planted earlier and they replaced those trees. They also mulched the trees and added to the existing flower beds.
JACKSON LIVEWIRES: Planted flowers in Camden up town and at the Senior Citizen building. Plus, we collected fabric for the Linus project.
JEFFERSON GO GETTERS: Purchased non-perishable food items for Carroll Manor and purchased flowers for their flower pots. They also planted flowers and weeded flower beds there.
LIBERTY LAZERS: Planted flowers for the Burrows Community and filled sand bags for Relay for Life.
MONORE ACHIEVERS: Planted flower bed and boxes at two Senior Citizens complexes. Held a food drive for the food pantry.
ROCK CREEK RENEGADES: Collected DVD's and sent them to Iraq for the troops. Club members planted flowers in pots for Rockfield Community. They also helped the Camden American Legion place flags on veterans graves for Memorial Day.
TIPPECANOE TRIUMPHS: Placed flags on Veterans graves for Memorial Day. They also visited with residents of St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, and planted trees for clean up days.
