The annual Burlington Fall Festival Queen Contest will be held this evening, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Community Park Building. The queen and her court will be participating in festival events, Sept. 19-21.
The Little Miss and Mister Contest will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Park Building.
A big weekend of activities is planned for Burlington's Fall Festival. The annual event will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Community Park. On Friday a chili supper will be served from 4 to 8 p.m. and Paul Stout will provide entertainment. A pancake and sausage breakfast will be served Saturday starting at 6 a.m. by the Kiwanis Club and VFD. A parade will begin at 1:15 p.m. in the downtown area and proceed to the park. There will be fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m. Karaoke will be held at 7 p.m., followed by a dance at 8. The community worship service on Sunday will be led by the Rev. Peter Roussakis of the First Brethren Church. Kim Sprinkle will have special music. A chicken and noodle dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a cruise in from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will conclude with drawings and an auction Sunday afternoon.
Wagoner Medical Center will offer free health screenings at the Burlington Park during this weekend's Fall Festival. Stop by the Center's booth at Burlington Community Park for a free body mass index.
The UMW will have a booth at the Fall Festival and sell cookbooks, mincemeat, and baked goods.
A communion service will be held at the Church of Christ at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Game Night will be held Thursday from 6:30 to 8 at Faith Church of Christ.
Faith Church of Christ will have communion from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
A bridal shower honoring Amber Cole, bride-elect of Sean Schaeffer, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Faith Church of Christ.
Those from the First Brethren Church helping with the float for Saturday's parade should be there at 1 p.m.
First Brethren Men's Breakfast and Bible Study will be held Friday at 6 a.m. at The Dinner Bell.
Crossfire Youth Ministry at Oakland Christian Church will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Oakland Christian Church jail ministries will beheld at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carroll County Jail and at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Clinton County Jail.
