Delphi Tri Kappa

Tri Kappa Province VII Convention was held recently at Delphi Community High School. It was hosted by Province Officer Melissa Maxwell and the members of the Tri Kappa chapter from Delphi.

Officers and members attending from the Gamma Alpha (Delphi) chapter were Cathy Berkshire, Anita Force, Jenny German, Carolyn Wood, Caryn Noonkester, Darice Sheiss, René Viney, Patsy Hasser, Tina Tyner, Nancy Beach, Bonnie Horn, Kay Ross, Susan Trueblood, Ami Tonsoni, Deb Striebeck, Judy Moore, Melissa Maxwell.

Officers and members attending from the Associate Chapter were Mary Helen Abbott, Earleen Alvarez, Mary Brown, Pat Duff, Marjorie Clifford, and Janie Smith.

Susan Trueblood gave the Mental Health report during the general session.

Workshops were held for chapter officers and scholarship representatives as well as new members.

Awards were presented to winners of the Fine Arts competition. Carolyn Wood won in the Wearable Art division, and Caryn Noonkester won in the Art division. They will represent Province VII at State Convention.

Tri Kappa is a philanthropic organization existing only within Indiana. Members donate over $1.5 million every year to the endeavors of charity, culture and education within their own communities and through state projects.

Delphi CWF

The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church met Sept. 8 with Lee Nydegger as hostess.

Twelve people answered the roll call by complimenting the person on their right.

Members were reminded that it is time to start thinking about filling shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse.

Plans were made for sending letters to invite former members to the 100th anniversary of the church building on Oct. 19. The CWF is going to clean the church basement on Oct. 13.

A wall hanging given by Edithe Berninger's family will be in the children's chapel room.

Winnie Beard gave the lesson on "Priorities" - finding time for things that are important.

The next meeting will be Oct. 6 at the church with Winnie Beard as hostess. There will be a "white elephant" sale.
