Doris Joan Booker Robertson, 73, of Delphi, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at 6:31 p.m. at Milner Comm unity Health Center, Rossville. She had been in ill health the past year.

She was born Feb. 15, 1935, in Mattoon, Ill., to the late Dale and Nellie Winchester Booker. In 1953, she graduated from Sullivan High School in Illinois. Her marriage was to William R. Robertson in Decatur, Ill., on Oct. 6, 1957, and he survives.

Mrs. Robertson graduated from cosmetology school and was hairdresser, retiring in 1964. She was also a homemaker.

She served as past president of the Shemamo Girl Scout Council in Decatur, Ill., and coached girl's softball for several years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with her husband.

Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Barbara J. Robertson (fiancé Dean Draper) of West Lafayette.

Private family services will be held at a later time.
