Ronald G. Long
Ronald Gregory Long, 51, of Delphi, died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at his residence. He had battled cancer for the past four years.
Born Oct. 25, 1956, in Lafayette, he was the son of Ronald L. and Mary Pegg Long, who survive and live in rural Carroll County.
He was a 1974 graduate of Twin Lakes High School.
Mr. Long worked for 25 years at The Andersons Cobb Mill in Delphi, then at S.I.A. in Lafayette from 1996-2005.
He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider and enthusiast.
He loved his daughters, parents, sister, brother, and his grandchildren. He was the chef at family gatherings.
Surviving are two daughters, Danielle Kelly (husband: Andy) of Camden and Mandy Werner (husband: Jimmy) of Delphi; a sister, Rhonda J. Benham and a brother, Gary Long (wife: Kim), both of Indianapolis; maternal grandpa, Gilbert Pegg of Fairmont; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother.
Services were held Sept. 6 at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. The Rev. Ken Smith officiated at a private family internment.
