Special Olympians win state championship

Carroll County's coed Special Olympics softball team recently won the state competition. They pulled out a 7-6 win in game one and then won big, 24-2, in the championship game.

Team members are Eric Bane, Stephen, Bethany and Jesse Cadwallader, Emily Downham, Charles Fry Sr., Richard Goyer, Jesse Collins, Joe Landon, Doug McCarty, Ron Rice, Selena Wagoner, and Kelly Buell. Hornet Hustle winners

Winners are announced in the Hornet Hustle, a 5K run held during the Rossville Summer's End Festival.

Top male runner was Joel Wilson of Frankfort with a time of 17:36. Top female runner was Stephanie Archibald Good of Rossville with a time of 24:40.
