Senior Center Sewing Circle; volunteers, donations welcome
      The former Brethren Healthcare Center had a Comfort Club, and when the facility closed in 2001, something had to be done with all the materials that the ladies used. Roberta Shanks, who helped with the club, gathered up all the fabric, sewing machines and other accessories, and has kept them in storage units all this time.

Sheriff initiates missing persons program for Carroll County
      Carroll County Sheriff Tony Burns does not want to use the newest program introduced by his department, however he fully supports the concept. "A Child Is Missing Alert" program was activated last week as a collaborative effort between Burn's department and the Delphi and Flora police departments.

School lockdown - precaution only
      Carroll Elementary School had a lockdown last Wednesday. Principal Carolyn O'Connell said it was a precautionary measure and it lasted half a day. She said it didn't have anything to do with guns or any other serious threat to the school as a whole. She commented only that it was a potential situation and involved a member of the school population.
