Carroll County United Fund board of directors held its annual organizational meeting. Officers elected were: James Huffer, president; Joshua Ayres, vice president; Jean Ann Randle, treasurer; Joretta Tinsman, secretary; and Dennis Randle, campaign drive chairman. Board members include Nancy Cripe, Katrina Coghill and James Hardison.

The 2008/2009 annual budget was set at $67,000, a reduction from last year's budget by $20,000. The United Fund budget was reduced due to declining contributions the past few years. Most recipients of funding either received a reduction in previous pledges or were removed from the budget.

Organizations that will benefit from contributions to the United Fund include: ARC of Carroll County, Boy Scouts of America, Carroll County Cancer Association, Carroll County Senior and Family Services, Carroll County Food Pantry, Carroll County Special Olympics, Central Indiana Girl Scouts, Family Health Clinic of Carroll County, Salvation Army, Carroll County YMCA, Junior Achievement, and Book Readers & Horn Blowers.
