Martin Mummert
Martin Mummert, 65, of Camden, died at 3:11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis.
Born Sept. 24, 1942, in Woodstock, Ill., he was the son of Lawrence and Nellie Westien Mummert. His marriage was on Dec. 1, 1973, in Delphi, to Sandra Storey, who survives.
Mr. Mummert was retired from Peters & Revington where he worked as a night watchman.
He was president of the Monticello ABATE of Indiana. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the Colts play.
Mr. Mummert also enjoyed playing the lottery and appeared on Hoosier Millionaire in 1996.
Surviving are four daughters, Ginger Mummert and Mary Zuver (husband: Zac) of Delphi, Susie Mummert of Camden, and Angela Vandergriff (husband: Travis) of Kokomo; three sons; Martin Mummert Jr. and Jason Chapman of Delphi and Russ Chapman (wife: Veronica) of Flora; a sister, Bonnie Bishop; a brother, Garry Mummert (wife: Sarah) of Monticello; three nieces, Kaleen Wisner (husband: Brian) of Cleveland, Tenn., Kathleen Bishop of Monticello, and Mary R. Stephens (husband: Bobby) of Delphi; two nephews, John Bishop of Nashville, Tenn., and Robert Bishop of Monticello; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a son Shawn, a daughter Carla, and two grandsons Gideon and Blade Weaver.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Pastor Brent Oliver will officiate. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens, Delphi. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
