Photo provided Kara Schwarzkopf was crowned Miss Camden at the 4th annual pageant held Saturday in the Community Building. Also crowned were the 2008 Little Miss, Daisy Rostron, and the 2008 Little Mister, Isaac DeKalb.

Emcees for this year's pageant were Channel 18 Meteorologist, Mike Prangley and the 2007 Miss Camden, Denise Kendall. Theme was "Down On The Farm."

Kara Schwarzkopf is the daughter of Kirk and Lori Schwarzkopf. Her court includes 1st runner-up Brianna Walters, daughter of Rick and Cathy Walters, sponsored by Abbott Funeral Home, and 2nd runner-up Courtney Buttice, daughter of Robert Buttice and Lisa Kisinger, sponsored by Smart Seeds.

Other Miss Camden contestants include Haley Richardson, daughter of Steve and Bethellen Richardson, sponsored by Denton Farms; Stephanie Fuller, daughter of Larry and Heike Fuller, sponsored by family members; Tara Grimes, daughter of Ken and Amanda Grimes, sponsored by Kate's Styling Center; Ashley Bennington, daughter of Randy Bennington and Tiffany Johnson, sponsored by Betty's Stop and Shop.

Other contestants were Alexis Kelly, daughter of Andy and Danielle Kelly; Ella Foreman, daughter of Eric and Stacy Foreman; Lydia Hensley, daughter of Rodney and Teresa Hensley; and Myah Abbott, daughter of Carl and Leah Abbott.

Little Mister Isaac DeKalb's parents are Marty and Jessica Hodges. His court includes 1st runner-up Brandon Freeman, son of Mike and Cathy Freeman, and 2nd runner-up Noah Red Elk, son of Melissa Red Elk and Keene Red Elk.

Children participating in the Little Miss and Mister pageant ranged in age from 5 to 7 while the Miss Camden contestants were all high school students. During the pageant, Camden's Golden Star (ladies over 60) and Little Rising Star (children from newborn to 24 months) were named.

The Little Rising Star is Annabelle Grimes, daughter of Ken and Amanda Grimes.

Camden's Golden Star is Mary Whitfield. First runnerup is Jan Hathaway and second runner-up is Mary Ann Berkshire.

All contestants were residents of Jackson, Washington, Rock Creek, Liberty or the eastern part of Deer Creek townships.

Winners will represent Camden during the year at area functions. Miss Camden and her court will help out during the Labor Day MDA Telethon on TV 18.
