Delphi resident is honored for volunteerism
Ken Green of Delphi was one of 17 senior Hoosiers who received a Golden Hoosier Award for his volunteer work. The award presentation was held at the Governor's Residence on Aug. 14.
Green was given the award for his service in the community which includes driving the Delphi Senior Center van, singing for numerous nonprofit agencies, and offering scholarships to high school students for summer camp.
"Ken is one of many countless Hoosiers who serve our state and the community daily, never asking anything in return," said Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman. "He is truly making a difference in the community and helping to build a strong Indiana.
Retired TV reporters Barbara Boyd and Howard Caldwell were also honored with Indiana Lifetime Awards.
Recipients, family, friends and representatives from Area Agencies on Aging celebrated with a light lunch and tour of the Governor's residence.
