Carroll board hires three new teachers
Just in time for school to start, Carroll School Board approved the hiring of three new teachers at its Aug. 5 meeting.
Lindsey Martin and Amy Bochenek will teach kindergarten, and Douglas Danforth will teach chemistry.
Elizabeth Rose, Spanish teacher, was granted a sixweeks maternity leave.
Two resignations were accepted - Beth Moore as kindergarten teacher and Barb Hickner as prime time instructional assistant.
Sarina Herron was hired as prime time assistant, and Jennifer Zinn was hired as Title I aide.
Added to the coaching staff for the fall season will be Gail Moffitt, soccer assistant; Tabitha Luers, seventh grade volleyball coach; Ashley Hanna, eighth grade volleyball coach; and Alishia Humbarger, junior high cheerleading head coach.
Two purchases were approved: Computer tables for $8,340 and five projectors and cabling for $5,800, all for the junior-senior high school. Both will be paid out of the Capital Projects Fund.
A cash tuition request from Chuck Prater for his daughter, Heather, was approved for the 2008-2009 school year.
Employee handbooks were adopted and will be given to each employee.
Bus mechanic Byron Shaffer was commended by maintenance supervisor Tom Allbaugh and board president Sam Zook for his good work in getting the buses ready for inspection. They passed with flying colors.
The next board meeting will be Aug. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Administration Building.
