Birthday/reunion

A Family Open House was held for Lucky Elaine Smith's 88th birthday, which was on 08-08-08.

Hosting the family celebration were Janalie and Maurice Robeson at their home northeast of Flora.

Also attending were Miriam Robeson and children Samantha, Benjamin and Caitlin Pickens, of Flora, Michele and David Howard of Carmel, Arlene and Larry Pifer of Roseville, Mich., Jana Medoza and daughters Alyson and Naomi, and Alyson's friend Taylor of Valparaiso, Josh Craig and Denise Butler and daughter Jaelyn of Fishers, Joyce Ellen and Stan Welter, and Ruth Roll of South Bend, Joe and Beverly Avery of Geetingsville, Stephanie and Michael Gochenour and Ben, and Troy Miller of Rossville, Patricia and Frank Swindle and Deb Coffing of Lafayette, Deloris Thayer of West Lafayette, Jack and JoAnn Smith of Bringhurst, Tim and Kimberly Miller of Noblesville, Jim Doran of Gainesville, Ga., and Vickie Scott of Santa Fe, N.M.

A prayer blessing the meal was led by Ruth Roll.

Zook family

The 59th annual Zook family reunion was held Aug. 3 in the 4-H Building at Flora Community Park.

Those present were: Mertha Foster and Jerry Tague of Lafayette; David and Katrina Stout, Ryan, Amanda, Bree and Kahlan Stout of Camden; Kevin, Jill, Kelsey and Karley Hammond, Kailey Goltz of Burlington; Charles, Theresa and Cory Hammond of Royal Center; Mandy, Scott, Ethan, Matt, and Hannah Army, David and Kathy Baxter, Keaghan Lane of Logansport; Elizabeth, Brooklynn and Ashlynn Jameson, Teresa and Ed McKnight of Lake Cicott; Jessica Wilson, Jayden and Kurtis Hammond of Dayton; Jane Davis of Rossville; Terry and Shirley Stockton, Luke Phillips of Kokomo; Butch and Chris Denny, Austin Denny, Payton Denny, Susan, Braden and Jaden Denny, Karen and Alan East, Brenda Thompson, Allen Hughes of Flora; Evelyn Zook and Roberta Wagoner from St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Darrel, Tammy and Courtney Noonkester, Rose and Dick Scott, Donnabelle Clawson, Kenny Scott, Robert and Trevor Walker, Bruce and Sue Hankins, Patrick Hankins of Delphi.

Peterson

Four generations of descendants of John Peterson and Catherine Fry Peterson came together the last Sunday of July at the Adams Township farm of Jonah Peterson, who hosted the event.

Family members traveled from Iowa, Illinois, Michigan and Massachusetts to participate in the traditional annual gathering.

The youngest reunion attendee, not quite a month old, was Jamie Potts of Idaville, with parents Jake and Kelly Potts. The birthday girl of the day was 12-year-old Alyssa Brower, with parents Kevin and Rae Brower of Delphi and Austin, John, Heather and Daniel.

Other Hoosier attendees included, Susan and Stan Wolven, Mary Zinn, Kay Stover, Pat and Jerry Peterson, Marlene and Bob Peterson, Susan and Kenneth Trusedell, Ruth Crawn, Lorie Peterson and Richard Norton with children Arianna and Caleb, Monica and Tony Peterson, Paula and Mike Peterson, Caroline and Kevin Peterson, Roma Peterson, Jeff and Julia Potts, Josh Potts, Linda and Jim Landis, Cindy and Jerry Reinke, Abby Reinke, Hannah Reinke, Ethan Reinke, Debbie and Alan Shultz.

Fresh from celebrating his 95th birthday the day before was Charlie Webster, accompanied by his son, Don Webster.

The distinction for longest miles traveled again fell to David Peterson of Boston, Ma.

Visiting from Michigan were Catherine Reynolds and Carol Ellen and John Davis.

And from Iowa: Laurel and Tom McCarthy with children Adele and Nate.

Illinois relatives included Gail and Erick Peterson, Nadine Peterson, Kathy and Greg McDonough, Carolyn and Ross Brower, Liz and Jake Kimball with Julia, Kristy Lennon and Brad Shultz.
