The Deer Creek Festival will be held Aug. 23 in Deer Creek. It will start at the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church with a breakfast starting at 8 a.m. A flea market will be held in the church parking lot from 8 to 4. The rest of the festival will be held at the community center. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone willing to donate $8 for a pie for the evening meal should send the donation to Mary Smith at 7098 E. 475N, Camden, IN 46917. Make checks out to AC/DC.

Mrs. Doug (Tabitha) Forgey has donated one of her kidneys to her father Ron Flora. They are both home from the hospital and both are reportedly doing well.

Sarah Kae Brown was one of the recipients of the Carroll County Heritage Award presented at the Old Settlers Association meeting on Saturday in Delphi. She was recognized for preservation of the Carnell family farm, gravesites, and the home. She is the daughter of Lisa Brown Hile and the late Ed Brown.

Word has been received of the death of Owen Brant. The Golden Girls of Deer Creek had lunch with him jus a few weeks ago.
