Mary Evelyn Kendall Smith, 94, formerly of Lafayette, died July 29, 2008, in Houston, Texas.

Born Sept. 21, 1913, she was the daughter of Joseph "Cab" and Maude Sink. She married Robert Irwin Kendall, who preceded her in death. Her second marriage was to Arville Smith, who also preceded her in death.

She had lived most of her life in Lafayette.

Mrs. Smith retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lafayette.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Kendall (wife: Malinda) of Camden, and William Smith (wife: Myra) of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Saturday in West Lafayette.
