Bill L. Johnson, 78, of Frankfort, died at 9:57 p.m. Fri., Aug. 1, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born Dec. 23, 1929, in Camden, he was the son of Edward E. and Stella McDowell Johnson. He was married on Jan. 21, 1957, to Mary Lou Sharp, who survives.

Mr. Johnson was owner/operator of Johnson Grocery in Camden from 1960-1968 and Fudge's Market in Frankfort from 1968-1980. He finished his career as a butcher at Marsh Supermarket, retiring in 1991 after 14 years of employment.

He was a 1949 graduate of Camden High School and attended a meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Frankfort.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Karen Frank of Woodinville, Wash; two sons, Larry D. Johnson (wife: Debbie) of Pulaski, N.Y., and Michael T. Johnson (wife: Diane) of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Garth Johnson of Valparaiso; and four grandchildren.

Two brothers, Walter and Edward, preceded him in death.

Services were held Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort. Pastor Tom Jameson officiated.
