It's harvest time in backyard family gardens all over Carroll County. Now is the time to preserve the rest of the year. Whether a pro, or beginner, Joanne Lytton's "Summer in a Jar" program will provide a variety of tips in this update of home canning and food preservation.

Big kids are starting school; the little ones can come to the library to start the storytime season with the theme, "School Days." Going to school (or preschool!) can be a little scary, but it is also fun to see old friends and meet new friends. Come to the library for fun stories, finger plays and more! Storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.
