Braden Atwood, a soon to be junior at Delphi Community High School, wrestled last week in North Dakota as a member of Team Indiana. He earned All-American honors.

Atwood was part of a team comprised of Cadet and Junior Freestyle, as well as Greco style wrestlers, who placed high in the Indiana state tournament.

The team took off last Thursday for Fargo, North Dakota, to wrestle in the largest wrestling tournament in the United States, the Accelerade Cadet/Junior National Championships. The event is held at the Fargo Dome at North Dakota State University.

Atwood wrestled in the Cadet 171-pound division. There were 57 wrestlers in his weight class and he placed fifth, earning All- American honors. He wrestled nine times over the three days of Freestyle competition

Indiana had only six All Americans in Freestyle. As a team the Indiana squad finished ninth out of 43 teams.
