Burlington Fall Festival Queen callout is under way through Aug. 23.

This year's pageant with a Barbie theme will be held Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Community Park Building. The queen and her court will be attending and assisting with festival events, Sept. 18-21.

The pageant is open to high school girls in grades 9- 12, who are residents of Burlington, or reside within a 10-mile radius; have affiliations with social or church organizations in Burlington; are employed in Burlington; or have relatives in Burlington. Deadline for submitting an application is Aug. 23.

Sponsors are required for each contestant. The sponsor is responsible for a $25 fee (check payable to Burlington Community Club). A 5x7 framed picture of the contestant is also required.

Those desiring to compete in the pageant should present the following information in resume form, typed: contestant's name, parents' names, sponsor, age, address, phone number (cell also), qualification(s) for participation, grade and school, club memberships, activities, career plans, and answer the following three questions: What was your favorite Barbie growing up? If you could change anything about the world, what would it be and why? What person or organization has influenced you the most and why?
