Judith Ann Huse, 67, of Monticello, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, at the Florida Hospital Celebration Health in Celebration, Fla.

She was born Dec. 9, 1940, in Flora, to James A. and Rosa Mae Wilson Shoemaker. She was a 1959 graduate of Northwestern High School. On May 1, 1960, she married Edward Huse at the Grace Brethren Church in Flora. He survives in Monticello.

Mrs. Huse had owned her own upholstery business until age 50 when she decided to return to school and earned her nursing license. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Lafayette Home Hospital before going to work at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi.

She was a member of the Delphi 1st Assembly of God.

Mrs. Huse loved sewing, doing crafts and was a very talented musician who had a couple of songs published.

Surviving are three sons, Bret Huse (wife: Sherri) of Romney, Dale Huse (wife: Luella) of Delphi, and Tom Huse (wife: Kim) of Veedersburg; one daughter, Cyndi Jones (husband: William) of Wolcott; two brothers, Ron Shoemaker (wife: Betty) of Kokomo and James Shoemaker (wife: Polly) of Winona Lake; one sister, Jolyn Collins (husband: Tony) of Burlington; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday morning at the Delphi 1st Assembly of God with Pastor Brent Oliver officiating. Burial followed at the Zion Citizens Cemetery near Bringhurst.

Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, was in charge of arrangements.
