It's the end of summer reading, and the library's 90th birthday, so we're having a party and everyone's invited! Bring the kids for an old fashioned birthday party with a craft, game, treats and a little library twist on the entertainment.

This is also an excellent time to view the artwork from this summer's "A Bug's World" art classes that were taught here at the library. The art reception will also feature the teacher, Grace Woodruff, who will be available for any questions or comments.

Flora Library's 90th birthday party, sponsored by Beta Alpha Chapter, Psi Iota Xi, and Bishop, Bishop and Bishop is Thursday, July 24, at 2 p.m.

The last day to pick up prizes for the "Catch the Reading Bug" summer reading club is this Friday, July 25.

It's the end of summer before school starts back up. With gas prices so high, take a "staycation" here in Indiana. Go to Amish country, visit the dunes, tour a winery, explore caves in the south, experience the city life of Indianapolis or relax in a lazy river in one of many water parks throughout the state.

The library has the Indiana 2008 Travel Guide that can help you plan your fun close to home. Information on camping, lodging and festivals are included in this guide. Pick up the travel guide at the main desk.

Storytime is on summer break. Kids can hear stories 24 hours a day by calling the library's Dial-a-Story, 967- 3814. The story currently playing is "Johnny Cake." Friday the story changes to "The Ants and the Grasshopper."
