The November general election is not far away. Voters will be selecting two, if not three, new county council members to make what we have all learned are some of the most critical decisions an elected official can make in their capacity to serve the county. There are contested races for surveyor and recorder as well, so it is winding up to be an exciting election at the county level this year.

Whenever there is an election, some group hosts a candidates' forum or debate to give candidates the opportunity to discuss issues and state their respective cases. The Comet participates in these events by developing and then asking questions of the candidates.

And that's where our readers come in.

In an attempt to provide you with the information you want and need to make your all-important decisions at the polls, we want to give you the opportunity to submit questions for candidates.

If you want to contribute questions to be asked of the candidates (don't shy away from wanting information from those candidates who are running unopposed, such as current commissioner Bill Brown or newcomer Pat Clawson), send your suggestions via mail or e-mail. Send questions to the Delphi Comet office at 114 E. Franklin St., Delphi, IN 46923. The e-mail address for that office is delphinews@ carrollcountycomet.com.

Please include your name and telephone number with your question(s). We may have a need to contact you for clarification or additional information.

Help us make this election one you will want to remember because of your participation! We look forward to hearing from you.
