Grace M. Sherman, 85, of Delphi, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Monticello Assisted Living and Health Care.

Born Nov. 12, 1922, in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of James and Sarah Elkins Mitchell. She married Harold Lambert, who died in 1944. Her second marriage was to Oliver Sherman and he preceded her in death in 1967.

Mrs. Sherman was retired after 35 years with Essex Wire in Lafayette.

Surviving are two daughters, Joan Stewart (husband: Bill) and Mary James (husband: Bob), both of Delphi; a son, Robert E. Sherman (wife: Carol) of Walton; nine grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi.
