Malachi Jaggers is debuting his second CD, "Rumble in My Soul," Saturday evening at a CD release concert in the Little Theatre at Delphi Community High School. The 7 p.m. concert will feature special guests Levi Riggs from The Overtones and Christopher Gipson. Admission is free.

Jaggers either wrote or co-wrote all ten songs on the CD. The title track, "Rumble in My Soul," was co-written with Scott Greeson. Jaggers collaborated with his father in-law, Dan Gottschalk of Delphi, on four other songs.

Background vocals are by The Overtones and Purduettes.

The CD was recorded in studios in Lafayette, Bloomington, Cleveland, Ohio, Nashville, Tenn., and at Delphi Community High School. Photography and promotional materials were done by Delphi Community High School graduate Aaron Hutsell.

Scott Rottler and Jaggers producd the CD with help from Grammy award-winning engineer Robert Hadley.

Jaggers released his first CD, "Trust," in 2003. He describes his music as contemporary Christian/ Christian rock.

"I want to share the gospel through the music that the Lord has given me," said Jaggers. "I want to be a modern day Moses."

Jaggers, a self-taught musician, credits his father as a major influence.

"My dad was a big fan of The Beatles and gave me my first guitar at age 7," he said.

Jaggers, a 2001 graduate of DCHS and married to the former Leah Gottschalk, taught himself to play drums, bass and acoustic guitar, piano, organ, harmonica, timpani, banjo, fan organ and mandolin.

Jaggers is joining The Overtones for concerts in Illinois and Texas in late August. More about his concert schedule and music can be found at www.myspace.com/malachijaggers.

When not making his own music, Jaggers is a studio engineer/ producer. The independent contractor has done 30 CD projects, including Ross Larimore, Joe Peters, Christopher Gipson, Levi Riggs and The Purdettes. He has also written and performed a radio commercial jingle for Pro Vac.

Jaggers dedicated his latest CD to his mother-in-law, Cindy Gottschalk, who was critically ill in the hospital during production of the CD. He said it was difficult to be away from family during this time.

"I would take song mixes to the hospital and they would play them on a boom box so she could hear them," he said. "Listening to the music played an important part in her recovery."

Making a living with his music and sharing the gospel are his goals, but getting the Lord's message out, he said, is most important.
