Carroll Manor elderly again unimportant
Once again, against the known will of county taxpayers, residents and Carroll Manor elderly and staff the following action transpired at the July 7 Carroll County Commissioners meeting.
Economic Development Corp. director Daryl Smith (the taxpayers' employee) presented statements and plans that are again laying groundwork to transpose county taxpayers' land into the hands of IPC.
Once again your county employee chose to ignore the wellbeing of county citizens to achieve his agenda, or is it perhaps the agenda of an influential corporation?
Your county commissioners have consented to, at Mr. Smith's request, a privately funded survey of your county land by a party whose identity Mr. Smith would not disclose.
Mr. Smith also has not disclosed the monetary spreadsheets promised on March 17 to verify all the great sums of wealth that will be pouring into our county from the dairy endeavors.
It would seem to me and others whose thoughts have been conveyed to me, that aside from monetary issues, Carroll Manor residents have no greater threat than the guise of economic development, funded by your tax dollars.
I again request assistance from county residents to use your phones, letters, e-mails, etc and voice to county leaders that Carroll Manor and our elderly citizens are important in this community and that the deplorable actions of EDC (which you fund) are unacceptable in this community.
While going through this process of writing and thinking of the performance of EDC leadership, a word, entered my mind that I will share with Carroll County citizens and EDC director Smith. The word is RESIGNATION! Galen Perry Delphi
