Women's Missionary Society of the Baptist Church will meet at 1:30 p.m. July 16 in the home of Myrtle Wallace. Bible book of the month is Colossians.

Camden Lions Club's first annual Horse Pull will be July 26, starting at 6 p.m. at the park. Food and ice cream will be available. For more information, contact Bill Dittman at 574-686-2260 (after 6 p.m.) or Tracy McGhee at 317-965-5022.

Camden Town Council will hold an executive session at 6:30 p.m. July 10 to discuss the job performance of employees.

Twelve members of the Aim Hi E.H. Club met in the home of Justine Crume for the June meeting. Donna Swayze gave devotions. The birthday song honored Joan Rogers and Eva Lou Shanks and the anniversary song to Sharon Ashby. Raffle and door prizes were won by Evetta Recher and Jean Willy. The following officers were installed by Justine Crume: president, Jane George; first vice president, Donna Swayze; second vice president, Evetta Recher; secretary, Jean Willy, and treasurer, Mary Anne Berkshire. Cohostess was Barb Jones. There will be no meeting in July.

Camden contests

Applications are available for four contests in Camden to be either held or winners announced on Aug. 23. The contests are all open to residents of Jackson, Rock Creek, Liberty or Washington townships. Applications may be picked up at the Camden Grocery.

• Camden's Little Rising Star Baby Contest is open to children ages newborn to 24 months. Canisters will be placed at the Camden Grocery from July 28 through Aug. 23. The child with the largest cash amount will be the winner. The winner will be announced during the Miss Camden Contest. Entry deadline is July 26.

• Camden's Little Miss & Mister Contest is open to children ages 5, 6 and 7. The contest will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 23 in the Camden Community Building. Entry fee is $10 to be paid at the time of application. Application deadline is Aug. 8.

• Miss Camden Contest is open to girls in grades 9- 12. The contest will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 23 in the Camden Community Building. The entry fee is $15 to be paid at the time of application. Application deadline is Aug. 8.

• Camden's Golden Star Contest is open to women who are over the age of 60. Canisters will be placed in the Camden Grocery from July 28 through Aug. 23. The lady with the largest cash amount will be the winner. This is a penny war and any coin other than a penny in the canisters will be deducted as a negative amount. Winners will be announced during the annual Miss Camden Contest. Deadline to enter is July 26.
