      Wayne and Jessica Miller are parents of an 8-pound, 15- ounce son, Reed Parker, born June 23 at St. Elizabeth Regional Healthcare Center (Home Hospital) in Lafayette. Grandparents are Doug and Nancy Suiter of Burnettsville and Gary and Dianne Miller of Lafayette.       Women's Missionary Society of the Baptist Church will meet at 1:30 p.m. July 16 in the home of Myrtle Wallace. Bible book of the month is Colossians. Camden Lions Club's first annual Horse Pull will be July 26, starting at 6 p.m. at the park. Food and ice cream will be available.

      Vacation Bible School at Deer Creek Presbyterian Church will be held July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All children ages three through sixth grade are welcome to attend. Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m. that day. Please bring a sleeping bag or blanket with the child's name on it. Lunch will be provided.

      Bring a book to the Carroll County Fair on July 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. and meet an Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader who is promoting the Books for Youth program. Books for Youth, sponsored by the Indianapolis Colts, is a program to get books out to all foster care children.

      Camden The "Catch the Reading Bug" summer reading club continues at the Camden- Jackson Township Public Library. Programs are being planned by Deb Foreman. Last week's program was on flashers or fireflies. During craft time the children made glow in the dark bracelets.
