J. Barry Mansfield, 61, of Horseshoe Bend Road, Brookston, died unexpectedly at 10:31 a.m Friday, June 27, 2008, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 25, 1946, in Lafayette, to the late Alva and Norene Schneider Mansfield. He was a 1964 graduate of Brookston High School. His marriage was to Pamela J. Yates in Delphi, on July 19, 1969, and she survives.

Mr. Mansfield worked for Chrysler Corp., Kokomo, from 1984-2008, as an electrician in the maintenance department. He retired in March.

He also worked out of the IBEW Local 668 in Lafayette, from 1969-1984.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Delphi, and the Carroll County Democratic Party.

He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, and NASCAR, especially driver Jeff Gordon.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Jerome Mansfield (wife: Jennifer) of Lafayette and Jacob B. Mansfield of Indianapolis; a daughter, Jill E. Mansfield (husband: Bob Busch) of Lafayette; his twin brother, Terry Mansfield, (girlfriend: Sheri Elliott) of Indianapolis; two sisters, Arlene Childers and Sharon LeBegue (husband: Bart), both of Lafayette.

A memorial service was held Monday evening at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. Jerry Dill officiated.
