David D. Cowell
David D. Cowell, 53, went home to be with Jesus on June 16, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born in Logansport, Ind., to Thomas and Martha Cowell on Aug. 5, 1954. He married Rhonda K. Richardson on Feb. 12, 1971.
He was a 1972 graduate of Carroll High School.
He and Rhonda were residing in Uvalde, Texas.
He has two children, Mara Matthews (husband: David), and Eric Cowell (wife: Chasity), both of Flora. He has seven grandkids: Justin Matthews (18), Tavish Matthews (14), Destiny Cowell (16), Makayla Cowell (12), Kelsey Cowell (10), Sydney Cowell (5), and Jaxson Cowell (7 months).
Dave and Rhonda were led by God to be involved in many work mission trips, both in the United States and abroad. He was a licensed pilot and served as Airport Board President for the Flora Airport for a short time. Serving the Lord and flying were his two passions.
He enjoyed working with computers, both as a hobby and a career. He owned and operated Wildcat Computers in Carroll County for nine years. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Family and friends are invited to join in a memorial celebration of Dave's life on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Living Faith Church of the Brethren, just west of Flora. The memorial service will be from 2 to 3 p.m. with an open house time of sharing from 3 to 4 p.m. Planters are welcome, but no flowers please.
