Hilda M. Davidson, 86, of Monticello, formerly of Burnettsville, died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Monticello Assisted Living and Health Care, Monticello.

Born April 16, 1922, in North Manchester, she was the daughter of Charles and Ethel Gochenour Brechbiel. She graduated from Burnettsville High School in 1940, On July 21, 1945, in her family's home in Burnettsville, she married Galen E. Davidson, who preceded her in death on April 18, 1999.

Mrs. Davidson retired in 1982 after working 21 years as a secretary for the Twin Lakes School Corporation.

She was a member of Burnettsville Church of the Brethren.

She enjoyed reading and having a bowl of ice cream each evening while reading.

Surviving are two daughters, Dorinda Stackhouse (husband: Fred) and Shelby Shepherd (husband: Peter), both of Logansport; two sons, Monte Davidson (wife: Sue) of Monticello and Kirby Davidson (wife: Bambi) of Burnettsville; a sister, Ruby McLeland of Burnettsville; a sister-in-law, Frances Brechbiel of Burnettsville; seven grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat grandchild.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Ron and Ralph Brechbiel; and a sister, Ruth St. Amant.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Pastor Janet Hildreth will officiate. Burial will be at Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Burnettsville Church of the Brethren or Augustus Cottage at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center.
