Ivy Tech hits record high for summer enrollment

Ivy Tech Community College has hit a record high for summer semester enrollment. With 32,728 students enrolled statewide, the college's total headcount was up 8.4 percent as compared to last summer. The state's community college saw an increase of 2,531 students enroll this summer semester as compared to last summer.

In addition, more students are taking more credit hours as the full-time equivalent (FTE) numbers increased by 5 percent to a record summer high of 11,266.

"Ivy Tech has achieved phenomenal growth in recent years and we are poised for even more growth in the future, as more and more Hoosiers are seeing the value in the state's community college," said Ivy Tech President Thomas J. Snyder. "As the largest single-accreditation community college in the U.S., Ivy Tech is earning a national reputation that will serve us well as we strive to become a leader in making education delivery even more responsive to the needs of those we serve."

Ivy Tech has 23 campuses throughout Indiana, serving more than 110,000 students a year. The college serves as the state's engine of workforce development, offering degree programs and training that are aligned with the needs of its community, along with courses and programs that transfer to other colleges and universities in Indiana.
