HIGHWAY 1 will host a benefit concert at the Bee Hive, corner of 6th and Logan Streets, in Burnettsville on June 28. Highway 1 consists of Joe Clothier and Martin Lewellen. There is no admission charge but a free-will offering will be taken. The donations will go toward work projects to be done in Haiti by the Hickory Grove Church Haiti Missions Team in January. Food will be available from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the concert will be from 6-7. The concert will be outside, weather permitting; so bring lawn chairs.
DELPHI ROTARY CLUB will host the annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at Honan Hall in Delphi July 5, from 6:30 to 10 a.m. The breakfast will precede the Independence Day Parade. Proceeds will benefit the Rotary Scholarship Fund.
THE FIFTEENTH ANNUAL DELPHI INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE will be July 5 at 10 a.m. A memorial service will be held on the courthouse square at 9:45. Registration begins at the Globe-Valve Parking Lot at 7:45. Groups, businesses, clubs or individuals are encouraged to enter floats. Judging will be at 9 in the parking lot. Awards will be presented at 11:45 at the Canal Center. Call Bob Connor (765) 564-2592, or Dick Bradshaw at 564-2212 for information. There is no rain date for the parade.
DELPHI ART CLUB will meet July 3 at 7 p.m. in the home of Carol Oliver, 5394 N. Wells St., Delphi. The August Old Settlers Art Show will be discussed. Members should have a list of artwork for the show. Check club program for committee assignments. Contact Oliver at (765) 564-6050.
"LIFE ON THE CANAL," a skit about canal life in the 1850s, will be presented on a boat ride on the canal this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. The boat will leave from the dock at Canal Park, Delphi. A maximum of 15 riders can make the trip. Reservations are needed. Call 765-447-1627. The onboard performance will be presented by Brittni Ballard and Chris Mayfield. The skit also will be presented July 6 at 2 p.m. on the playground boat at Canal Park.
CANAL DAYS will be July 5 and 6 at Canal Park in Delphi. The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. All park buildings will be open.
DELPHI ART CLUB will meet at 7 p.m. July 3 at the home of Carol Oliver, 5394 N. Wells St. Delphi. Members are reminded that this is an important meeting because they will be discussing the Old Settlers Art Show in August. Members should have their list of artwork for the show to turn in at the meeting. They should also check the art club program to see what committees they are on. Hostess for the meeting will be Carol Oliver.
CARROLL COUNTY AGRICULTURE ASSOCIATION will hold its quarterly meeting for all members and interested persons on Saturday, June 28, at 8 a.m, at Excel Co-op.
