Comet photo The 30th annual running of the Hog Jog was held Saturday morning in Flora. Sponsored by the Flora Lions Club, the event attracted over 500 runners (10K, 2-mile and runt jog) and walkers (2-mile).

Lions Club member Susan Shively said the race practically runs itself with everyone doing their thing to help out.

Saturday's great weather helped the turnout, she said.

The 10K winner, 20-yearold Kyle Wallace of Burlington, ran both races. He used the 2-mile run that started at 7:30 as a warm-up for the 6- mile run that followed at 8:10. Because he did not register for the short run, he bypassed the chute at the end of the race, receiving no placing or time. This was Wallace's first Hog Jog win.
