Virginia Jean Sink, 91, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Flora and Plymouth, died May 24, 2008, at the Kensington Manor nursing facility in Sarasota.

Born Sept. 1, 1916, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of Louis Clause and Opal Carpenter Schroeder.

She attended Logansport High School and was a buyer for Bosworth's Department Store in Plymouth. After moving to Florida, she was employed by Venture Rental Apartments for several years.

While residing in Carroll County, Mrs. Sink was a 4-H leader in Carrollton Township and a member of the Wheeling Presbyterian Ladies Aid Society.

Her hobbies included playing the organ, entertaining. She also enjoyed spending summers in Indiana and at her cottage in Michigan.

Surviving are a son, J. Darhl Sink of Jacksonville, Ill.; a grandson, Karlin Sink of Ottawa, Ill.; and a godchild, Kathy Dawn Wszlek of Valparaiso.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her former husband, Donavon Sink; her parents; a brother, Louis Dale Schroeder of Florida; her stepfather, Clare Porter; and two stepsisters, Genola Mc- Clatchey and Norma Beaver of Morocco.

Services were held May 29 at Toale Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sarasota. Following the service, cremation rites were accorded and her ashes were scattered in Florida.
