KICK home tour is Saturday
      Flora Community Club's KICK Team will host a home tour on June 21 from 10 am to 2 p.m. Proceeds will be used for scholarships and other needs in the community. There are five homes on the tour. Homeowners and their locations are: Kirk and Chrystal Ayres, 2136S 50E, Bringhurst; John and Autumn Filbrun, 815 S.

      With grilling season in full swing, this week's recipes are perfect for summer get-togethers and grill outs. Nothing's better than steak on the grill and this kicked up version is great with a big salad. And, speaking of kick, Grilled Cajun Chicken is a great way to grill up the old bird. We don't want to leave out pork.

      Delphi Christian Church will be sponsoring a PARENTS NIGHT OUT each Thursday evening for ages 4 and up. There will be fun, movies and crafts for all.       This season of Bridge-ARama has concluded with monies raised going for scholarships. First place goes to Mary Kelly and Donnabelle Sieber with 31,290 points. Second place goes to Helen Schilling and Joann Viano with 29,100 points and third place to Jan and Marion Hathaway.

      Craig and Jenna McCoy Powlen of Pasadena, Calif., are parents of a two-pound, 14- ounce daughter, Amanda Arline, born May 6. Grandparents are Jim and Lois Powlen of Delphi and Jack and Sue McCoy of Lafayette. Greatgrandparents are Edith McCoy and Charles Black, both of Lafayette.

Garlinger is mobilized
      Army Sgt. Christopher P. Garlinger has been mobilized and activated at Fort Dix, N.J., for a deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The soldier is a member of the 38th Military Police Company, a national guard unit based in Delphi.

      Pastor Sandy Hutchens and Pastor Thomas McShannock have resigned their call at Faith Lutheran Church, effective July 7. Their last Sunday will be June 29. They have accepted a call to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange. Deer Creek Presbyterian Church will have "Sundaes on Thursday," an informal worship service in the fellowship hall.

4-H'ers attend Science Workshops
      Six 4-H'ers represented Carroll County at the three-day Science Workshops at Purdue University. Youth and the workshops they attended were: Malena Zook, Dairy Cattle Workshop; Lorelei Seip and Lucia Zook, Vet. Science Dogs and Cats; Kelly Ann Carter, Food Science; Aaron Goodman, Plant Science; and Tyler Plank, Engineering Science.

      KAREN WEATHERWAX of K. Weatherwax Photography in Delphi participated in the 28th session of M.A.I.P.P. the first week in June. The institute utilizes the facilities of the University of Northern Iowa to bring a unique educational experience to photographers. More than 200 professional photographers from 20 states studied with 10 nationally recognized photographers.
