Rowena M. Calloway
Rowena Maude Calloway, 89, of Warren, formerly of Camden, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, at Heritage Pointe in Warren.
Born Oct. 23, 1918, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Jesse and Ida Maude Fox Wallace. She graduated from Camden High School in 1936. On Oct. 15, 1949, at the Baptist Church in Logansport, she married Andrew Lee Calloway, who survives.
Mrs. Calloway was a 77-year member of the Camden First Baptist Church, where she served as church treasurer for many years and held other church offices.
She was a charter member of the Aim Hi Extension Homemakers Club, a lifetime member of Dorcas Missionary Society of the First Baptist Church, and a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #413, Camden.
She was a devoted wife, beloved mother and grandmother, and devout Christian.
Surviving with her husband of Heritage Point, Warren, are a daughter, Phyllis Davis (husband: John) of Fort Wayne, and two grandsons, Kent Davis (wife: Jennifer) of Philadelphia, Pa., and Chris Davis of Greensburg.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Camden First Baptist Church. Pastor Paul Marcellino will officiate. Burial will be at Camden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cree Funeral Home, Camden, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
