Florence Arleene Bowman Goyer, 89, formerly of Delphi, passed away June 4, 2008, at 5:15 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. She had been a resident there since Aug. 31, 2004.

She was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Russiaville to the late George and Jessie Rogers Bowman. Her marriage was to Harold S. Goyer in Rockfield on Dec. 24, 1939, and he preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1988.

Mrs. Goyer was a 1936 graduate of Delphi High School. She worked for Delphi Auto Supply as bookkeeper for many years.

Mrs. Goyer and her husband helped found and establish the Carroll County Council on Aging in Delphi. She was council treasurer until 2004.

She was a longtime member of Delphi United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the light circle of the church. She also participated in the Delphi Home Ec club. She enjoyed camping and flower gardening.

Surviving are two sons, Donald Goyer (wife: Shirley) of Delphi and James Goyer (wife: Mary) of Millington, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Goyer was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Services were held Saturday at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi, and were officiated by Pastor Sheri Rohrer. Burial was at Delphi Masonic Cemetery.
