A reporter from a nearby daily newspaper found out that it wasn't so easy to get a story last week when he told Vicky Snipes what he wanted. Her requirement to get the story was that the reporter should be a donor. We understand it was his first time and that he met the demand to get his story during the Bloodmobile's visit to Delphi.

David Goyer was the Little League hero in the opening of the 1958 season as he pitched a ho-hit, norun game and clouted one over the left field fence for a home run to aid in the Legion's 6 to 0 victory. Goyer struck out 12 of the 23 men to face him.
The game at Little League park followed a noisy parade through town, led by the American Legion Post Color guard, beautiful convertibles carrying League officials and those to have part in the program, several trucks filled with Little Leaguers, another truck with a talented band and all followed by prancing horses ridden by careful riders.

A southbound Monon passenger train was wrecked about a mile north of Pittsburg as a result of torrential rains that descended upon this community during the night.
The train was running slowly through a blinding downpour when the road bed gave way and the tender and first of two express cars behind it dropped into a washout. A second express car was derailed. No one was hurt.
The rain caused considerable property damage in this locality. Riley Park was under water and the Camden Pike was partly washed out. Five feet of water was rushing across road 25 at the viaduct.

The Rippel show that pitched its tents at Deer Creek for an exhibition Friday night of last week, was given a surprise when not a single person went into the tent to see the performance. The show which has been well patronized on its yearly visits to that village under an admittance fee of 15 cents, raised its prices this year to 25 cents and the citizens planned and executed a boycott.
