Camden Lodge presents awards
At recent public ceremonies several members of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge #211 received honors for long-term membership and achievements. The event was held in the historic Masonic Building on Camden's Main Street.
In recognition of the significance of these milestones, the lodge also welcomed representatives from the Indiana Masonic Home, located in Franklin. They were Ralph Kauffman, John Rose and George Eastman, all of whom assisted the Lodge's Worshipful Master, Fred Hartman, in the presentation ceremonies.
Don Mitchell, Lawrence Jones and Ron Robison, accompanied by their wives, were honored for their years of loyalty and contributions to the fraternity. They received 50- year pins and certificates.
Receiving 25-year pins were Ronald King, Glendon Wolfe and Douglas Downham.
Several other eligible recipients were unable to attend the ceremonies for a variety of reasons and their recognitions were conveyed to them by other means.
The representatives of the Indiana Masonic Home gave an update on the home's progress toward expanding the services to the members who may need the home's services in the future. Among the innovative programs is a new home health care service, which is already Medicare certified and will be made available to members of the fraternity as staff grows and needs become evident throughout Indiana.
The lodge also received a report on the generous donations sent to the home, as well as an appeal for specific items needed to care for the residents.
Mt. Zion's Master, Fred Hartman, was recognized by Kauffman with the Indiana Masonic Home Ambassador Award for his service to the Indiana Masonic Home.
In addition to the presentations of the service pins and Hartman's award, the guests were treated to a meal, prepared by the family of lodge member Don Hickman, Jr.%
