Deer Creek Delphiniums
After school recently, the Deer Creek Delphiniums cleaned up their two Adopt-a- Spots. They had fun weeding and watering the flower beds. They also planted some new flowers.
On June 5 the club will play miniature golf at Yeoman Golf Course at 7 p.m.
The club will have an open house June 7 to sign books from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the church.
Conservation Day Camp
Youth interested in "Wildlife, Fishing, Forestry, Geology, Soil & Water Conservation, and Outdoor Cookery" are invited to attend the Area 8 Conservation Day at France Park on Thursday, June 12. In order to plan for lunch, contact the Carroll County Extension Office at 765-564-3169 by June 6.
Junior Open Beef Show
The Carroll County 4-H Exhibit Association is sponsoring a Junior Open Beef Show on June 7 at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. Cattle may be brought after 7 a.m. Weighing starts at 8. The show will begin at 1:30 p.m. All Indiana residents ages 8 through 21 are eligible to show. For a show flier, contact the Carroll County Extension Office.
Foods Workshops
A workshop for 4-H'ers in Foods & Food Preservations in Grade 3 will be held on June 5 at 7 p.m. at the 4-H building. The topics include: food tips, showing tips and question & answer session.
4-H Scrapbooking
4-H'ers enrolled in the Scrapbook Project for the first time are encouraged to attend a question and answer meeting on June 9 at the 4-H building from 6:30- 7:15 p.m. Bring your project book, the 4-H handbook, an adult, and questions. Project requirements will be discussed.
Pen cards and entry fee due
Please turn into the 4-H office by June 13 your entry/auction fee and pen cards.
Sewing Workshop
The 4-H Sewing Leaders will host a "hands-on" workshop from 1-3 p.m. at the 4-H building on June 10. Bring your project to work on. They will offer assistance in fitting patterns, straightening fabric and various sewing techniques. Sewing machines, cutting space and ironing boards will be available. RSVP to the 4-H office by June 5 so that enough equipment will be available.
Mini 4-H Workshop
A fun Mini 4-H Workshop will be held at the 4-H Building in Flora on June 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program includes many fun "hands-on" events such as: rockets and kites, bicycle safety, gift wrap, collections, bubble paint, leaf prints and bubbles. The workshop is free. Bring a sack lunch with name on it. Drinks will be provided. The Mini 4- H'ers will be painting and making bubbles so they should wear play clothes.
Livestock Workshops
On Wednesday, June 4 livestock workshops will be held at the 4-H Building. Times will be: Beef - 6 p.m. Sheep - 7 p.m. Swine - 8 p.m. The PQA PLUS program is new in 2008 and combines PQA, food safety and animal well-being in one program. It is being offered at 6, 7, and 8 p.m.
