A public meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Community Building to award housing grant contracts.

Jackson Township Parade, and Youth Day, "Celebrating an All-Star Community," will be held Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. Parade line-up will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Monroe Street (between Cree Funeral Home and TDS Telecom). Following the parade, there will be a short program at the park and ballgames on all three diamonds throughout the rest of the day. In the event of rain, the parade will be postponed until a later time. A bake sale, games for the kids and ice cream are also part of the day.

Camden Community Vacation Bible School will be held each evening at 6:30 p.m. June 9-13 at the Camden First Baptist Church. Classes are planned for all ages and adults. This year's theme is "God's Big Back Yard."

Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Masonic Temple. Fathers will be honored, along with the Grand Chapter reports and farewell.

Camden-Jackson Township Public Library board will meet at 7 p.m. June 11 in the Reading Room.

UMW will meet June 12 in the home of Diane Hinkle. A meal will be served.

Camden Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. June 12 in the town hall.

Sign-up continues for the "To Catch a Reading Bug" summer reading program at the Camden Jackson Township Public Library. Special programs will be held each Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Children ages kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to attend. "Reading Bingo" game is also available for youth in grades six through eighth grade.
