An AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE will be held June 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Honan Hall, 119 E. Monroe St., in Delphi. All donors will be entered into a drawing for an outdoor grill package. To be eligible, donors must weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in general good health and present positive identification. Call (800) GIVELIFE for information or to schedule a blood donation appointment.
As a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and the CARROLL COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE (June 27- 28) the "Flocking Crew" will be secretly planting pink flamingos in yards of unsuspecting families around the county. If the flamingos show up on your lawn, removal (within 24 hours) will be provided by the Flocking Crew. To have the birds relocated onto a specific lawn, make a donation to the American Cancer Society. The Flocking Crew will collect the donation when the flock is gathered. Call the Flamingo Flock Line at 765-202-1485 to make a donation and select a family to be flocked.
ORACLE ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB will be reorganizing in a new format. Anyone interested in participating should contact Greg Norman at drnorman57@gmail.com or Dan Dawson at dawsond@delphi .k12.in.us by June 13.
Rossville Consolidated School District Ag Construction project for the 2007-2008 school year, under the direction of Leon Greives, will host an OPEN HOUSE from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The home was built for Mike Rothenberger and is located at 7305 W. CR 700 N., Mulberry.
As part of the HERITAGE TRANSPORTATION FESTIVAL June 14-15, two canal-related events will take place. The new stationary PLAYGROUND BOAT will be dedicated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, in Canal Park, Delphi. The dedication will include a 20-minute play portraying life on the canal in the 1850s. It will be performed by Delphi area youth. The play will be repeated at 3 p.m. The second event is the re-dedication of the
CARROLLTON BRIDGE at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. The event also includes recognition of land gifts to the adjacent canal interpretive site and the new Wabash River Water Trail. Parking will be available one quarter mile south of the bridge, and the Delphi trolley will provide transportation to the bridge.
