The Class of 2008 at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School has three valedictorians and two salutatorians - all girls. Sharing the valedictorian honor are Angel Jackson, Aurora Shands, and Morgan Yoder. Lorene Sandifur lost her husband Gary to cancer resulting from smoking until he turned 50 years old. She said Gary told her he would quit smoking by the time he was 50 and he did, but he did so because he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer the day before his birthday. Thomas W. "Bill" O'Farrell, 74, of rural Carroll County, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008, at 1:50 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was born March 30, 1934, in Carroll County, to Harry E. and Della F. Ruppert O'Farrell. On Nov. 26, 1956, he married Marilyn S. Robertson in Delphi and she survives. More...
